1. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing or using EffortlessDoc (the "Service") at effortlessdoc.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Age Restriction & Minors Policy

The Service is intended for users aged 18 and over.

2.1 If you are under 18

You may use the Service only with the verifiable involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
A parent or guardian must review every AI-generated document before you submit it to any school, employer, publisher, regulatory body, or other institution.
You must not represent any AI-generated content as your own original work in any context where this is prohibited (for example: school exams, academic assignments where AI use is disallowed, application essays where AI assistance must be disclosed).

2.2 Parental responsibility

If you are a parent or guardian and you become aware that your child has used the Service without your supervision, you remain solely responsible for any consequences arising from that use, including but not limited to academic-integrity violations, employment-application misstatements, or breach of third-party terms.

2.3 Children under 13 (or applicable local age)

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction, e.g. 16 in the EU under GDPR-K). We do not knowingly collect any information from children under that age. If we learn we have collected information from such a child, we will delete it promptly.

2.4 No collection of identifying information

The Service does not require account creation, does not log user inputs server-side, and does not place persistent cookies for tracking purposes. We therefore have no practical means of verifying user age beyond self-declaration.

3. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

�?Critical: All documents produced by EffortlessDoc are generated by an AI language model. AI models can and do hallucinate �?that is, they may produce plausible-looking but entirely fabricated facts, statistics, citations, names, URLs, dates, awards, and quotations, even when explicitly instructed not to.

3.1 You must verify everything

Before using any AI-generated document for any purpose, you are required to independently verify:

All names of people, companies, schools, products, and institutions;
All dates, durations, ages, and timelines;
All numbers, percentages, dollar amounts, headcounts, market sizes (e.g., TAM/SAM/SOM), and growth rates;
All citations to studies, reports, surveys, or industry sources (e.g., Gartner, Statista, McKinsey, government data);
All contact information (email addresses, phone numbers, LinkedIn URLs, GitHub URLs, websites);
All awards, certifications, rankings, and credentials.

3.2 High-stakes uses require extra caution

The following use cases carry elevated risk and require especially rigorous human review before use:

Resumes & cover letters submitted to employers (risk: misrepresentation, fraud claims, termination);
Business proposals, pitch decks, press releases presented to investors, partners, or media (risk: securities-fraud exposure, defamation, business reputational harm);
Academic essays, research papers, lab reports, application essays (risk: academic-integrity violations, admissions rescission);
Legal, medical, or financial documents (risk: regulatory action, malpractice claims). EffortlessDoc is not licensed to provide legal, medical, or financial advice.

3.3 No warranty of accuracy

EffortlessDoc and its operator make no representation or warranty that AI-generated content is accurate, complete, current, non-infringing, fit for any particular purpose, or compliant with any third-party policy (including school honor codes, employer AI-use policies, journal submission rules, or platform terms of service).

4. User Responsibility & Acceptable Use

You are solely responsible for:

Reviewing, editing, and verifying every document before any use;
Disclosing AI assistance where required by the receiving institution (school, employer, journal, etc.);
Compliance with all applicable laws, including anti-fraud, securities, advertising, academic-integrity, and data-protection laws;
Not using the Service to produce content that is defamatory, harassing, fraudulent, infringing, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or otherwise unlawful;
Not using the Service to impersonate another real person, including by inserting their name, employment history, or credentials into generated documents without authorization.

5. Privacy & Data Handling

The Service is designed to minimize data collection:

No account, no email required to use the Builder.
User inputs are transmitted to a third-party AI model (DeepSeek) for generation and are not stored on our servers after the response is returned. Inputs may be retained by the third-party AI provider under their own policy �?review DeepSeek's privacy policy before pasting sensitive content.
The Contact Form (if used) sends the message to a third-party form provider (Formspree); only the data you voluntarily enter into the form is transmitted.
We use localStorage in your browser to remember UI preferences (last-used template, dismissed notices). This data never leaves your device.
Do not paste passwords, government ID numbers, payment card data, classified information, attorney-client privileged content, or protected health information into the Builder.

6. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of the inputs you provide. Subject to applicable law, you may use the AI-generated output for any lawful purpose. You acknowledge that AI-generated text may not be copyrightable in some jurisdictions and that other users may receive substantially similar outputs from substantially similar inputs.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the operator of EffortlessDoc be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, business, or reputation, arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Where liability cannot be excluded by law, the operator's total aggregate liability shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to use the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) US$0 if you used the Service free of charge.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operator of EffortlessDoc from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or any AI-generated content, including claims of defamation, infringement, fraud, academic dishonesty, or breach of any third-party agreement or policy.

9. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute shall be resolved exclusively in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction provides otherwise.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent change. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
